No. Your digital switching configuration files must first be upgraded to the new LightHouse 3 standard. We do not recommend updating digitally switched vessels without first consulting with your boat builder or dealer.

No. After extensive testing it was determined that Raymarine a-Series, c-Series and e-Series products do not have sufficient memory and processor resources available to run LightHouse 3 at an acceptable level of performance. These units will not accept the LightHouse 3 update.

Over the next several months we plan to add many features to the LightHouse 3 operating system that are currently supported in Lighthouse II. These features and enhancements include:

  • Theyr GRIB Viewer weather application
  • SIRIUSXM audio support
  • Advanced sailing tools with:
    • Laylines and polars
    • Race course quick entry
    • Race timers and start line assistant
  • Fuel management
  • Graphical tides and currents
  • Document viewer
  • Additional Top and Side Databar options
  • System-wide brightness control
  • Ruler
  • And many more new features and enhancements!

We are committed to delivering as many new features and functionality as possible with each release of LightHouse 3, however because of the rigorous testing and quality assurance measures we put in place with each edition of the LightHouse OS, not every future feature and enhancement is guaranteed in each release. New features and enhancements that don’t make cut will be prioritized in the next edition of LightHouse 3.

Raymarine is planning the following upcoming releases for LightHouse 3 soon:

  • Lighthouse version 3.4 (February 2018)

Like our LightHouse II OS, Raymarine is committed to offering regular LightHouse 3 updates with new and expanded features, however the LightHouse release schedule above is subject to change.

LightHouse 3 Frequently Asked Questions

A. Raymarine’s RayControl and RayRemote apps are compatible with Axiom and LightHouse 3 now. Make sure you have updated your apps to the latest version on your device’s online app store.

LightHouse 3.2 and higher supports systems from Rockford Fosgate and FUSION. They are controlled using the Raymarine Audio App, and connect to the entertainment hardware using NMEA2000.

Ethernet connectivity to FUSION 700 and 750 systems will come in a future update.

We will be adding support for SIRIUSXM satellite radio in a future software release.

Starting in LightHouse 3.3, Raymarine Axiom system support marine weather from SiriusXM in North America. Unlike LightHouse 2 systems that use a dedicated marine weather app, the marine weather display is fully integrated with the LightHouse 3 chart application. When you open the menu you will find a new “Weather” mode selection that enables the overlay of SiriusXM weather data.

Raymarine is also working on a Theyr GRIB Viewer app which will offer worldwide weather data options. This will be available in a future LightHouse 3 update.

Every Axiom and Axiom Pro system has built-in Bluetooth wireless networking. We plan to activate it for use with select accessories like the RCU-3 remote later this year.

Raymarine is actively working on developing advanced sailing tools for LightHouse 3 including lay lines, start line management, race course builder, and more. We hope to release this Spring 2018.

Information for Owners of Older Products, Looking for LightHouse 3

Yes! LightHouse 3.3 is now available for Raymarine eS-Series and gS-Series multifunction displays. Once upgraded, these MFDs can seamlessly network and share features with Axiom and Axiom Pro MFDs.

No. After extensive testing it was determined that Raymarine a-Series, c-Series and e-Series products do not have sufficient memory and processor resources available to run LightHouse 3 at an acceptable level of performance. These units will not accept the LightHouse 3 update.

No. You will need to manually download LightHouse 3.3 for eS and gS Series from Raymarine.com and install it from a microSD memory card. There are some very substantial differences in the operation and features of the LightHouse 3.3 operating system that you need to be aware of before upgrading. An upgraded user guide and software “gap list” are available for you to review before you commit to upgrading your system.

No. Some of Axiom and Axiom Pro’s features are created in software, and will be made available via update. Other Axiom features are dependent on the Axiom platform’s advanced hardware and won’t work on upgraded LightHouse II hardware.

For example, RealVision 3D Sonar is dependent on the new sonar hardware built into Axiom and Axiom Pro MFDs, and the appropriate transducer. If you don’t have that sonar hardware onboard your boat, you will not be able to access RealVision 3D on upgraded products.

If you have your upgraded eS or gS Series product networked to RealVision 3D enabled Axiom or Axiom Pro, you will have full access to RealVision 3D through the network

Before upgrading from LightHouse II to LightHouse 3, be sure to thoroughly read the accompanying software release notes and feature list. We have provided a full listing of LightHouse 2 “gap features” that are not yet available in LightHouse 3. If any of the features on that list are critical to your type of boating, we suggest that you not update to LightHouse 3 yet.

Unfortunately, no. The minimum hardware and software requirements for both LightHouse II and Lighthouse 3 exceed the capabilities of these older platforms. No new updates will be issued for them.
