It is this great achievement that won him the title of 2007 Raymarine/YJA Yachtsman of the Year, making him the only person to have won the award three times.
12 year old Laurence Greenough earned the title of Raymarine Young Sailor of the Year. Laurence lost a leg two years ago in a boating accident but was back sailing just two months later with the Plymouth Youth Sailing club in an unmodified Topper.

Geoff Holt's ‘Personal Everest’ |
31/10/2007 |
Some three months after leaving Southampton, 41-year-old Geoff Holt sailed back into the Solent on 5 September and into the record books. He had sailed alone round Britain in a 15ft trimaran: an epic feat for a man who is paralysed from the neck down.
Holt, a former delivery skipper, had an accident at the age of 18 that left him quadriplegic. Since 1990, he has championed disabled sailing and he helped found the charity RYA Sailability, but this spring he set out to make a record-breaking voyage of his own that he had long dreamed about: to become the first disabled sailor to single-handedly circumnavigate Britain. He called it his ‘Personal Everest’.

The Revival of Classic Yachts and The Classic Channel Regatta |
16/10/2007 |
Classic boats used to be a specialised enthusiasm – almost a cult thing. Even a decade ago there were plenty of unloved former beauties rotting in mud berths. But in the last five or six years classics has been transformed into one of the most vibrant areas of sailing.
In fact, so many lovely old boats have been brought back to cruising trim that there is a whole circuit of classic events throughout the UK and Europe. One of the most wide-ranging is the biannual Raymarine-sponsored Classic Channel Regatta, which runs every other July from Dartmouth.
Elaine Bunting from Yachting World talks about the revival of classic yachts and the Classic Channel Regatta.
