Katie Miller sets sail again

This time with crew and raising more money for charity in the JPMorgan Asset Management Round the Island race Katie Miller, winner of the Raymarine Young Sailor of the Year, has announced she is to sail double-handed in the JPMorgan Asset Management Round the Island Race which takes place on Saturday 23 June.

A Beneteau 34.7 owned by Nick Jones has been fully equipped with all the latest in marine technology thanks to a new ambassador agreement with leading marine electronics manufacturer Raymarine. The boat started the season in top form winning the IRC3 class in the first race of the Raymarine Warsash Spring Series.

 

Raymarine launches dedicated AIS Receiver

Raymarine has launched its first dedicated AIS receiver. Raymarine’s AIS250 is a compact unit that provides Automatic Identification System (AIS) reception of data over VHF. This technology enables the voiceless exchange of navigation information between any vessel or shore station equipped with AIS receivers.

They say that salt water is the toughest test of any product, but for some, taking marine navigation equipment across more than 8,600 kms of road, sand, pebbles and dunes, could be said to be the roughest endurance challenge ever devised. British racecar enthusiasts Paul Round and Martin Coulson have just completed the Euromilhoes Lisboa-Dakar 2007 using Raymarine’s navigation equipment to guide them quickly and safely from Portugal through Morocco, Mauritania, Mali to the finish line in Dakar, Senegal where the pair were the first British team to finish.

Raymarine electronics help Adventure plot best course to regain lost time after rescuing Koomooloo crew The British yacht Adventure, owned by the Joint Services Adventure Sail Training Centre and crewed predominantly by members of the Royal Corps of Signals finished the prestigious Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race as the first UK yacht, and an impressive 5th out of her 25 strong division and 21st overall out of the 78 finishers.

Raymarine’s Satellite Television Antenna for On-Board Entertainment

Raymarine’s first Satellite TV antenna system is on display on Stand S2307 at the London Boat show, which takes place at ExCel from 6-15 January 2006. The 45 STV provides access to hundreds of channels of digital entertainment with digital quality sound. With uninterrupted access to subscription and satellite channels while at sea, the 45 STV enables films and TV programmes to be viewed on Raymarine monitors on board – such as the E Series, H6 and M1500 monitor – or on standard TV screens.
