Nominations for the Raymarine YJA Yachtsman of the Year and Raymarine Young Sailor of the Year awards will open at 12.30pm on Friday 12 September 2008, on the Raymarine stand G88 at the PSP Southampton Boat Show. Current title holders Sir Robin Knox-Johnston (Raymarine YJA Yachtsman of the Year) and Laurence Greenough (Raymarine Young Sailor of the Year) are expected to be among those opening the call for nominations.

Free Raymarine technical training skills sessions

If you want to get the best from your onboard electronics, and can’t tell your AIS from your DSC, then set a course to Stand G88 at the PSP Southampton Boat Show, where Raymarine is running a series of free training sessions.  Taking place four times a day throughout the show, the 20-minute informal training sessions are hosted by two of the UK’s leading RYA instructors.

  

Raymarine launches pioneering test boat 'Raymariner'

Raymarine is launching 'Raymariner', its new state-of-the-art test boat, at the PSP Southampton Boat Show. 'Raymariner' is a Commodore 42 from Hardy Marine and will be afloat on Berth 247.

 

Size is everything when it comes to home comforts afloat

One of the smallest boats to be fitted with Raymarine’s satellite TV will be on display at the PSP Southampton Boat Show on Berth 199.  The Seaward 25 Motor Cruiser – at just 25 foot (6.4m) long – offers all the comforts of home, including high quality satellite TV reception thanks to the Raymarine 37STV antenna on board.

Raymarine launches new Super HD Digital Radar, new SPX autopilots and ST70 Autopilot Head at Southampton Boat Show

Raymarine will be launching a selection of new products on stand G88 at the Southampton Boat Show. New at the show will be Raymarine's Super HD Digital radar, designed to operate with the G Series or E Series. Also showing will be the new SPX autopilot series, including the ST70 Control Head, designed to suit every size of boat.

200 years old, oyster smack Boadicea is still a Pearl of the Ocean

Built in 1808 Boadicea, an original Maldon Oyster Smack, is the oldest sailing boat still afloat in Europe.  This year, celebrating her 200th birthday, Boadicea will be sailing the UK waters attending events and races, including the Myst Classic Race in August

 

GEE wins Spirit of the Event Trophy in action-packed 2008 Round Britain Offshore Powerboat Race

The Raymarine-sponsored Spirit of the Event Trophy at the 2008 Round Britain Offshore Power Boat Race was presented to the crew of GEE at the event’s prize giving following an action-packed race which finished in Portsmouth on Monday 30 June.

Dag Pike secures second Round Britain success with Raymarine

Legendary navigator Dag Pike has won the 2008 Round Britain Offshore Power Boat race. The gruelling conditions and dramatic weather changes meant Dag had to rely firmly on his Raymarine equipment to help make navigational changes to maximise the opportunities during the eight leg race.  'Blue FPT' finished the race with a total elapsed time of 20 hours, 36 minutes and 47 seconds.
