World leaders in marine electronics, Raymarine, has announced the first lucky winner of its NEW and exciting monthly Dragonfly™ Screen Capture Competition.

Ben Garlick of Queensland, Australia, has won a refund of the full purchase price of his award-winning Dragonfly system, as well as a Dragonfly sun cover and carrying case, by submitting the winning shot for April’s Screen Capture Competition.

His eye catching screen shot captured a bale of turtles swimming beneath his boat in a large, shallow estuary of water off the east coast of Australia.

The Ray 260 is Raymarine’s new premier VHF radio, designed to complement and enhance the latest generation of Raymarine multifunction displays (MFDs) and instruments. Raymarine has announced that its apps for RayControl and RayRemote are to remain FREE for users to download until April 7th, 2013. The RayRemote and RayControl apps, which enable users to control e and c-Series multifunction displays wirelessly from any smartphone or tablet, are available for Apple iOS, Android and Kindle Fire, and can be located via the Apple iTunes App store, Google Play Store for Android, and through the Amazon Android Marketplace. The applications have been incredibly successful and popular both by users and the marine industry. The RayControl app was shortlisted at this year’s Dame Award, a worldwide award for design excellence in the marine industry.

The UON SB20 World Championships, held at Hamilton Island in December 2012, saw one of the closest fought series of races. The event concluded with Geoff Carveth’s British WKD team sailing into the SB20 class history books to be crowned SB20 world champion for the third time. With the leading SB20 boats and crews so competitively matched, one of the advantages used by Carveth was his Racemaster compass from Raymarine which provided essential data from the race course.

Nordship Yachts, the Danish-based manufacturer of cruising yachts, has launched a unique service enabling boat owners to create their own exclusive dream boat. The introduction of ‘Custom Line’ will make Nordship the world’s first ever boatyard to offer ‘one-design’, fully-customised, luxury cruising yachts from 46 feet upwards.

The service is being headed by Nordship founder Lars Buchwald, and enables boat owners to be involved in every aspect of their cruising yacht’s design and build, from hull design to build materials, layout, rig, interior design and electronics, while costing no more than comparable yachts from leading manufacture of luxury production yachts.

Raymarine announced the newest addition to its family of thermal night vision products for boaters, the T470SC gyro-stabilised thermal camera.
